Can someone identify this siding?

This is on a customers home. At first I thought it was Hardie but upon closer inspection it appears to be a compressed paper product? The pic shows the damage that is occurring all around the house which would be flaking and separation of the layers that were pressed together. Sorry I did not take a close up picture.

If it looks like OSB when you peal it off or cut it--it's very likely the LP Innerseal Siding that was the subject of a class action settlement not too long ago.

Looks like 8" lap siding to me. With questionable installation! Too tight to the roof and it is supposed to be horizontal.
That needs to be 1 1/2" off of the roof.

LP Siding, OmniWood, it's junk, if that's what it is. OSB core with a rough sawn embossing on the surface. Billion dollar lawsuit against LP with this product.
