Best Type Of Fiber Cement Siding

Talking to my hardware rep I heard Nichita has a higher percentage of silica. I don't take the guys word for gold but I'm curious as I'm not a fan of massive amounts of silica entering anyones respiratory system. Anyone hear anything about what percentages of what material make up whatever material?

The nichiha is better in my opinion.

I've hung about 100sq of the lap siding so far. It's so new that I haven't been able to sell it to much. It also scares my normal builders because they are buying james hardie's name not some Japanese stuff.....

I think alot of you will have trouble getting it. Since the only factory is in Atlanta by the time you add freight it get's to some area's it's get's to be to expensive.

I can barely get only because I'm in the loop with a distributor that can get it here. It costs me about a $ 1.00 cheaper per piece for a the normal primed 7 1/4".

We pay $5.25/pc for 8-1/4" smooth or cedar
and $4.25/pc for 6-1/4" smooth or cedar

The guy only sells it to me in unit(s) + additional pieces

The bigger the job, the lower the price and then some.

Tar paper. It lasts longer, holds up better and a snap to install. I prefer the black stuff

hardi is all we use out here in the tennessee hills works wonderful as long as someone doesn't nail it 1/4 inch from the top
