Azek Fascia, Vinyl Soffit Question
I have a customer who wants to replace his water damaged fascia with Azek / pvc trimboard. He also wants to redo his plywood soffits with vinyl.
My question is what's the neatest looking way to accomplish this as there will be no aluminum lip to support the fascia side of the soffit panel. Haven't seen this done (yet) but am curious if it is doable ... TIA |

Re: Azek Fascia, Vinyl Soffit Question
Drop you facia down a little further then normal and run J-channel along the back side of the facia.

Re: Azek Fascia, Vinyl Soffit Question
If there's a sub-facia, you could bend a metal 'L' and install it before the azek. Or, block the rafter tails for nailing soffit, then metal, then azek.
Just a thought....

Re: Azek Fascia, Vinyl Soffit Question
Hem a metal L as stated in a previous post. I made my own soffit J in this case too.

loneframer,
That looks nice and neat. Amazing how that beaded soffet fits right around that rafter tail, having the beads line up. Didn't have to go far for that pic!

Re: Azek Fascia, Vinyl Soffit Question
on current job with narrow soffits we are using 5/4 azek all around. We dado the fascia to recieve the azek soffit. If your soffit is nailed to sub-fascia, would it be possible to simply rout a narrow dado in the fascia to receive the edge of the vinyl? Product routs very easily. A slight overhang of the fascia below the soffit face also looks good.

It's probably in that other thread, but what product is the soffit? - Thanks!
