average cost for cedar siding

What is the the per square rate for cedar siding?
I have seen it anywhere from $150 to $250.
That doesnt seem like enough to for a good, thorough job. Up until now I have been able to do it by the hour and did have to rush to make a buck. I would almost rather not take a job if I know that I can't take my time.
I now have a client that I have been trying to work with for a wile but he wants a set price. I know what I want to charge but there has to be a industry standard. Anyone know what that is?

I will never bid a job hourly myself...$ per sq ft vary`s everywhere I think
my prices are always determined by material type & size
