Attaching Hardie To Steel Studs

Has anyone ever installed Hardie soffit and wall panels to steel studs? I've installed plenty of Hardie, just never to steel. I'm assuming screws would be better than nailing, just concerned with Hardie breaking apart when screwed into and wondering if it needs to be pre-drilled. Any suggestions would be great.

Read the prints.

There SHOULD be blocking installed in the cavities.
