Re: Anyone Else Do This Kind Of Work?

We do it and we quadruple the price. If it measures 1.5 sq. we charge for 6

What happened at the top?

I don't know I didn't do it.I've never seen the top done like that.I've done some simpler ones just wasn't sure about pricing.
thanks.

Re: Anyone Else Do This Kind Of Work?

It's not to my taste, I'd do it if asked, but why is the vent not up near the ridge where it will work?

again I don't know I just seen it, snapped a pic and forgot about it. till today when I was going thru pics.
from the area it's in I'm sure it probably has ridge vent and vented soffit in the gables.lol,I love seeing that cracks me up.
I don't do much sun burst type of stuff I was just wondering what folks charge.not actual price but how you price it.

Re: Anyone Else Do This Kind Of Work?

That's not bad but could look better.
Start with a Fypon Sunburst, run lines off the rays and bend your coil to allow for starter for each new course.
I'll post a pic tomorrow of one I've done recently,as it's on the shop PC.

Re: Anyone Else Do This Kind Of Work?

Thanks for the compliments guys.

I just use a straight edge and mark the next course using each ray on the sunburst.
From the pic they look a little off,but that's because of the angle of the photo.
Took me about 3 hrs once I figured how I wanted to bend the pieces.
I charged $300 extra on the complete job for that and the owner couldn't have been happier.

The tie in vertical piece is a "C" cap that locks over hem bends on the last pieces.

I like the challenge of work like that.

<edit>the color didn't match at first but with some color match paint the Fypon sunburst now matches the sage coil stock I used for the rays(as per customer request)
Oh,and as brought up in the OT section....the customers were a gay couple.

Re: Anyone Else Do This Kind Of Work?

My siding subs have done that on a few occasions, except not with the special every other piece being a different color. It's not really that hard if you take the time to slow down and lay it out... which means have the installers aren't capable because most guys want fast fast fast.
