Man I got real excited when I saw you reply so quick. I was at a Harvey trade show last week and the tapco rep showed me how to make a soffit miter although he made it in about 20 seconds so I kinda lost him. For your other question, Ive been keeping busy (mostly sub work over the winter but im starting to pile up my own jobs.) but from what I hear i'm lucky cause theres a lot of guys with nothing. Hows things down your end? If you don't mind me asking what are you guys charging on average per square for standard siding jobs?

It's been a slow winter overall but keeping the guys going none the less. We just began promoting siding, it is something that we have always done as an add on but have never marketed it. I am trying to promote the Prodigy siding with the built in R5 insulation. I have two proposals out now with customers with issues and should know the outcome within a week.
Customer #1, price for 61 windows then asked about siding (36 square), we gave them a price for siding then they asked for a roof, gave them the price for the roof, now they want to replace 8 columns and want 96' of Elk composite railings...............I think once we reach $100,000 they will be able to make up their mind. I feel like starting over with them and having them create a dream list.
Customer #2 was a one legger since her husbands father was sick, then the father died. We will give them some time.

Im back in western MA now. I am gonna be doing a place on the cape in a couple weeks though. Retailing Anywhere from $350 to 475 and up depending on window wraps and stripping too. I haven't done any crane board jobs yet I think the cost on it was around 130/sq though Do you have a standard Pricing sheet you use with your subs? If your willing to share it i would love to see what your subs are getting to compare.

Still playing with the prices. We only do siding with rip offs now and that price varies alot. Some of the ring shank and spiral shank nail are really slow to strip. Also some of the newer homes are difficult because you end up spending time playing with the sheathing.
When I get some set prices I will share them with you. I have set prices (per unit ) for all of the other work that we do.
Is you $350-$475 labor, material, profit and overhead with the r5?

labor material and over head for basic jobs using stock Alcoa mastic or carvedwood w/basic trim usually 3/8" backer. Id be interested in your sheet for window subs as well, I like to keep up with everyone else. I got a copy of what home depots billing customers and I almost fell over. Here's a series of e-mails I dealt with over the weekend for your entertainment:
"Hi Patrick the job site is in Sterling Ma just north of Worcester,If interested in giving a quote, my cell is XXX-XXX-XXXX, it is about 40 Sq + trim and window wraps 908 casing and sills, cedar shakes are on the house know."
My reply:
With our current work load, we would be unable to do a job that far away right now. based on 40sq you would be looking in the neighborhood of $18-20,000
His response:
Got a price today from a man on craigslist, $8500.00 glad your busy, If you have so much work why do you charge so much $1000.00 a square you must be on crack.
