Doesn't look like the joints made on the mast is even far enough away from the upper window to pass code. Oh well. At least they tried really hard.

Your right, the drop would have come down, and wrapped around the house 4 times before entering the building, had the cable tv guys done it. Oh yea, and it would have been spliced with 3 way splitters in at least 4 locations.

This is the kind of job that begs for one of those fancy aluminum siding straps.

I can't sleep, so thought I would browse around and saw this pic.
You can tell the cable guys didn't do that because if they did, it would have just been run through a window and the HO would be holding it in place by closing the window on it. No need for straps that way.
You think I'm kidding that the cable guys would do that....
I've seen it in apt bldgs.....

That picture is unreal. It really does look like cable guys were there.
I have to say I have always been confused as to why they NEVER use an existing drop to the house. They will run a new one every time. As a consequence, there are 5 cable drops to my place (I have a two flat). Why don't they re-use the existing one? Sorry, I don't want to hijack this thread, just venting.

What is tying the wire up to the building so that it drops down to the drop?
Also, I hate it when electricians don't strap their drops and rely on the soffit and roof sheathing to hold it in place. It makes for a bad day when your remodeling job requires you to tear into the overhang, and the drop falls down onto the sidewalk with hot lines running through it.
