Question What is It???

OK, thought you guys might like this one. I found both of these on the same job. I love this house! The guy was a Sparky in the service on a ship. He died many years ago and I maintain the house. He was also an inventor. There is so much in this house that is so far ahead of its time. Though the technology is different now.

Look at the pics and then tell me what you think. I know the answers already, just want to see wht you guys guess.

OK, your joking, but you are close on the remote for the first pic. Keep guessing.

I'll give you a clue. This guy has pressure switches everywhere.

I have no idea what the first one is, a pile of switches? The second one isn't anything, it's a pile of components/devices wired to control something, maybe it turns on and off and dims the porch light, am I right, is it for the porch light?

OK, just for the effort you put it

You hit a few of them. The dimmer is for the front spot light, that is a 220v outlet, but it was the relays that were most interesting. That is a toggle for the relay and a fuse.

Ready for this.....

That whole thing is to let them know when the garage doors was open or shut. There is a pressure switch at the bottom of the garage door.

There is also another one to let them knwo when the mailbox was opened signaling when the mailman(person) had delivered the mail.

Another devise alerted them that someone had entered the front yard.

The inside of the house looks like a ship with all the lights and signals. Just about everything is run through conduit as well.

I'll wait for someone to figure out the first pic before giving it away.

The first picture is just 6 slide switches mounted on a single gang plate. Could be used for anything.

I think the better question here would be "how many violations can you spot". I have come across the work of these types also and never thought they were geniuses just hacks.

This work is over 40 years old! The man was an electrician! Not a Hack. Tell me how many code violations you can see that were in place 40 years ago?

YES they are 6 slide switches, or Dip Switches. If you have ever seen a ship from the 50's, this would all make sense.

So the questions is, what would all those dip switches be used for.

Clue. They are all for ONE thing!

The first one: When the switches are put in the proper positions they start the self-destruct sequence when the Government is busting down the front door.
