There's Something Missing
Good Afternoon,
I'm new to this forum. I am attempting to design a one-line riser diagram (attached) for a small project i'm working on, in Richmond Va. This project has a ground floor commercial space (1500 square feet) with 2 apartments (750 square feet each) on the second floor. The total power needed is about 400 amps. I believe that i have most of what's needed in this one-line diagram. I've highlighted the areas of question for me. if any one can identify any of the highlighted area i will gladly welcome it. |

Re: There's Something Missing
Why are you bothering with a separate main disconnect????
How about using a 3-bank meter main with three 125/100 amp mains? A LOT easier and cheaper. This way all your meters and main disconnects are neatly grouped as well. All your grounding/bonding goes to this meter main, all the panels are treated as sub-panels. You also will not have to worry about conductor size between the main and meters. In my part of NY you would need a lever bypass for the commercial meter section.

Re: There's Something Missing
I agree with Petey. The 3 meter socket bank feeding individual load centers in the 3 seperate occupancies is a much cleaner way to do this installation. There are also some potential code and POCO regulatory issues with having a disconnect "upstream" from the service entry/meters.
