Saving Nicholas

I was called to "repair an outlet in the backyard" this afternoon. It is a slight exaggeration but this set up clearly had the potential to kill someone without the GFCI protection. Nicholas is the 4 year-old kid who uses this pool the most along with his dad when he comes home after work. I fixed it up.

Re: Saving Nicholas

That's just pure irresponsibility, now to top it all off the parents would sue the pool manufacturer, distributor, retail store and the salesman for their ignorance since they chose to ignore the instructions supplied with the pool.

Thanks for fixing (even though I don't know the people, no kid deserves that) perhaps the parents should be fined/jailed for stupidity.

Surprised the romex wasn't cut into by the siding from the box moving back and forth.

I'll post the after pictures tomorrow. I have to go back there tomorrow to fix some other similar problems. How much you wanna bet the bonding strap was never removed in the new 4-wire dryer range??

It may not be an exaggeration at all, if you do a search, I posted a while back about a girl that was killed out here in a very similar situation.

Re: Saving Nicholas

So when people stupid **** like that and some gets hurt or worse dies...what do the insurance companies do? Do they investigate and refute claims based on a H.O. doing repairs/revamps without a permit or license?

Re: Saving Nicholas

It's a good feeling to be able to maybe save someone's life and get paid for it.

Kind of like serving in the military because I'm just doing my job.
