Inaccessible Wireway, Plumbing Joints, Etc.

This beauty was inspected in 1998. How could the inspector possibly miss this? The top screw of the wireway was never tightened and there ain't no way this was here before the engineered floor joist was.

Meter is 320 amps (on the exterior) with (2) 150 amp MB 30 circuit QO's. The 2nd owner is moving in and adding a ton of stuff including a 61.5 amp steam "thing" for the master bath. I would like to upgrade both panels to 40 ckt, 200 amp MB's and do this thing right once and for all.

Any room for a sweep in there? On wood like that the nmsc is fine coming in the top but anything comming out the side or bottom I would hardpipe. I would think it would have to be protected from damage.

You mean like this?

There is a huge 320 amp meter on the outside. You're right. Instead of using (2) sweeps the OI (original installer) used (1) 4" conduit out of the back of the meter to the Hoffman wireway/ box and then nippled to each panel. There are (4) ungrounded feeders and (2) grounded feeders from the meter, to the wireway, to their eventual termination in each of the panels. It's crap is what it is.

beautiful work as usual. Nice an neat. If you work in DC they would hand you the sticker and the door.

My local electrician is such a neat freak it pains me sometimes. But I learn to live with it, cause I know he is good at his job and takes pride like I do.

But if a wire looks wrong or can't be ran the way he likes he has a panick attack.

He was a master electrician in 3 states and 10 counties by the age of 26. He says that is a burden on his shoulders for life.

I think he needs to get laid more, but that is just me

What's the small white box on the left?? Low voltage?

What are those ductwork and plumbing pipes doing within the dedicated space reserved for electrical wires and conduits?

Has anyone read 110.26(F)(1) ?
