HomelineAfter searching previous posts on Homeline panels, I wanna give all you real sparkys out there a chance to talk me out of this before I do it. I've got no problem with Square D panels, and the price on the Homeline is soooo tempting! It's finally time to replace Mom's FUSE BOX with 20th century technology and the budget is tight. Talk me down before it's too late

Re: Homeline
Nothing wrong with that panel. It's pretty popular. It's not my first choice, but I'd pick it way before I'd pick Murray or GE. If money was the main factor in equipment choice, I'd say that's about your best bet, in my opinion.

Re: Homeline
Nothing I can put my finger on really. Nothing in particular comes to mind right away about them either. What I will say is that I don't think there's a real junk panel on the market nowadays, but some are definately better than others. GE's just not real popular at all in my area, and I don't carry the stupid 1/2 size breakers on the truck for them. I guess that's one thing that irritates me about them. Asking about panel brands is a bit like a Ford vs. Chevy vs. Dodge thing. I have a reasonable expectation that you'll get good service no matter what you choose.

Re: Homeline
I'm not a big fan of the Homeline panels. Why not just go with the QO? It has been my experience that the Square D QO's have the nicest design and are the easiest to work with. I have never installed a new GE panel. Murray and Siemens mostly...

No, that's the truth.
You're wasting your time in the field if you're not complimenting it in the classroom. |

Re: Homeline
Thanks all. I'd rather the QO too, but the panel and breakers come to about $200 more than the Homeline package, and money is tight 'round here these days.
Thanks again for the input. |
