Found this today
Doing a rehab and found this behind the wall. Aren't those for 12v automotive? There were no clamps on any boxes, splices buried, wires within reach of nails etc. etc.

Don't know how to post a shudder!

Wish I could say it's the worst I've seen,
but I'd be lying if I did.

Looks some home owner who though he knew what he was doing but was extremely wrong. Shows why people should hire an electrician. Also thats a nice use of a surface mount box.

The new pics would be the 100 A panel in the back of my truck, ALL the existing wires stripped out and rewired by a real electrician! The new 200A goes in Monday, meter base and mast the next day, wait for the inspection, get the poco to put in the new drop, bla, bla, bla, you've seen it all ad nauseam.
Fire trucks are not in my future. (Touch wood)

At least they used a crimp of sorts instead of the usual twist wire and tape it a bit method I always come across. Also they used real romex. That is a huge upgrade from speaker cable flake add ons common to DIY's wiring . Hate to say it but I get to witness much much worse than this, but glad you found it and are fixing it.

I know this an old post but i have to say DAMN!!!! Did anyone notice that this "remodel" wasnt that old? The post was dated for 2008 and the OSB on the wall behind the panel was dated 2004. What was this guy thinking when he installed this panel/wiring?????

Why didn't you just life the panel to reach the wires?

Then you'd have to splice the feeder/service wires coming in the bottom.

But that's only one wire compared to all the others that are spliced...only one to fix in the future...
