Re: Boiler Nightmare

This was the "covers optional" boiler room?

And the "whatever color wire you have on the truck is fine" install?

Re: Boiler Nightmare

Maybe they left the covers off so the arc blast wouldn't melt them.

Re: Boiler Nightmare

The "hot Leg" wrote on the back of the panel is pretty funny! Must of been a thinking guy trying to warn someone. Ha Ha! Same guy must of installed those 3 pole breakers on one side of the bottom of panel? Seen messes like this in Industry where nobody cared as long as it works.......... Mike

Re: Boiler Nightmare

Maybe the hose was to wash his hands while he was installing the sub. There is a bright side to these installs. Eventually, when the person leaves it's not something a HO or Handyman can fix. That stuff is kind of fun to work on..sometimes

Oftentimes the guy who did it cheap is the guy who pays. At the time of sale, a home inspector will look at that then report that the system needs to be inspected by a qualified boilerman and a qualified electrician. The qualified guys will say it's not properly done and must be re-done. The owner gets to pay for his cost-saving ways.

Re: Boiler Nightmare

You need to think outside the box on this. The whole room is a giant JBox. The cover is the entry door-if there is one.

The entrance was from a city sidewalk - steel Bilco doors.

Aside from all the other mess, I think my favorite is the rainbow colored ground wires....
