I think I like it. In fact I can see it being VERY therapeutic to build/install.

Not sure about code compliance..... but I would use some form of sheet goods 4x8 or what ever, and feed it through a shopbot to do all the outlet cut outs. Install the out lets directly to the sheet so there would be open access to the back side.

Then the fun part, pull up a wheeled shop stool and go to town wiring it all up in my air conditioned shop, each row left to right would connect in parallel and terminate with pig tails or something of the sort and then run to its own circuit.

The panel could then be surface mounted to an existing wall...... and then where was that thread with the 800amp service install???
