Nice work. But one question. In Ontario you get to put footings at ground level?

Kidding. I see the high banks......

NO TRENCHES/FOOTINGS??

Forming looks nice but would never fly around here or anywhere I know of.
Looks kinda shy on rebar also.

Re: Tidy Forming

the rear section toward the road has an 8' foundation wall and 7 ft of backfill and the water side had a 12' total wall height with 4' of backfill to make a walkout basement ..... also thats three rows of 10m rebar and we put 3' uprights in every 2' - exactly as the engineer called for

Re: Tidy Forming

Not just in cali this would not fly here at all. We would barely be able to get 4 ft wall on footings like that. Nice form work but the only part of footings that matter are width, thickness rebar and that the wall sits on the footings as speced. When we do a foundo on a hill as picture we would have at least a 48 in X 10 inch min footing with a double mat and 5/8 verts like 16 oc or closer thers alot of presure when retaining 7 ft of fill with a mountain behind it.

48" wide footing ? are you effing kidding me ? thats wild!!
that hill is no different than digging an 8' hole in the ground, and creating an 8' deep basement , there is almost always 7 feet of backfill against an 8' foundation wall.

that footing you see is actually larger than norm for around here, 20 X 10, and that stone you see was put as per engineers requirement , because the water table ( lake elevation ) was so close to the height of the footing
