Re: Steel / ICF New Home Thread

Looks like your guys did a real nice job.

I see you did not get to use that new R2 laser screed. That looks like the type project you could try it out on.......if you can get a demo unit.

Dear Joasis,
Aren't you required to chair the remesh above the sand so that some concrete flows under it? Aren't you required to place poly vapor barrier under your slabs in Oklahoma? Are you required to pressure test pex heating pipes prior to pouring.
Thanks, Ed.

No, no, and no. My house, my discretion.

Chairs are hardly ever used, and when placing the concrete, the mesh is lifted.

Vapor barriers are rarely, if ever used on residentials in Oklahoma.

And my radiant system is experiemental, and installed by myself. No test needed.

The south wall of the house, 20 feet tall. Notice the stamped concrete needing to be power washed and sealed.

Re: Steel / ICF New Home Thread

Updates. If the rain quits today (Oklahoma weather!), we will finish up the projection and install the rest of the windows. Working only when time allows has made this a long process.

A few more views, including a cloese up of the pattern, and a look at the antique bricks I salvaged years back....all over 100 years old...work great with the Acme Brenner Pass that are the new brick.

And, a few from the inside. HVAC is roughed in, upstairs and down, next the plumber will be back.

Re: Steel / ICF New Home Thread

If any of you want to ask, yes, the sequence is kind of backwards....but the soffits and trim will finish after the brick...since a lot of this is design as I go work.

One last pic today, my wife helping me set ceiling joists a few weeks ago.
