Steel going up.
Man, it was hot yesterday...just thought I would show off a truck wash bay we are building in Fairview Oklahoma...today (Wednesday), we will finish the steel framing and my crew will move in and sheet the building tomorrow.
The truck in the picture is pretty handy, as you guys can see...it is also a full dump bed.

That is a wicked looking forklift there Jo. Where did you come up with that? What brand is it? Is it homemade?
Dave.

LOL.... I like the stepladder on top the cab of the truck to get to the platform..
Is that OSHA safe???
Might get a higher work comp rate if your agent sees that Jay!!!

Yep maj...it is probably not OSHA compliant...man, I stepped in it there. We actuall jump from the scissor lift to the truck bed (long step) and the ladder is a just in case thing. We didn't bring an extension ladder the first day. The hoist body of the truck is actually OSHA approved for staging for roofing...and I don't want to know what they think of us using it as a platform lift...but oh well..it is safe.
The forklift is a 1964 Lull 7C Highlift, will go 34 feet up with 4000#, and just perfect for steel erection, plus it is way cheaper then a telehandler style lift (that I want for Christmas).

nearly a week....wind and more wind kept the sheeting progress at a standstill...the building is completed now and I haven't been back for the final pictures. This project went on for 2 weeks, since the customer, who we do a lot of work for, pulled us off twice to catch other projects. Just the way it goes....a building of this size will take 6 days from steel to trim...if everything goes ok.
