What a coincidence. Jersey walls in New Jersey. Whoda thunkit?

Looks like the lighthouse is built from Mafia block. Another strange coincidence.

Re: Sandy Hook, NJ Bridge

didn't they ask the contractors to stop construction on the bridge till the dolphins lost in the Shrewsbury river to escape? they said no. I'm gonna miss that old lift bridge we went over many times when we lived at the bay shore.

I have a lot of memories of going over that bridge too. The kids used to always jump off the bridge into the river and I always wanted to do that when i got older but never did.

I went past here again in mid-November and the small bridge you on the ocean side that takes you into the hook is gone and demolished.

Actually, AW, I think they are building a whole new bridge, one set of lanes at a time. That's why there's one lane going east, one lane going west. Before it used to be two lanes each way. Planning for a job like this must take a while.

Oh i see, they are just dismantling it. I zoomed in to see the old style plate girders and balustrade style concrete guardrail. The old concrete ... tree things that hold the plaques and first sets of lamps. or whoever you call them at the approach to the bridge on the east end. one is missing. So they are just getting started.
