PIP House

These are some progress shots from my 3 year project in San Diego. We are 14 months into a 14,000 s/f concrete house. This will be a framed second story Living and Dining room-(the only framed area on the job). This 2400 s/f elevated deck poured last week and was the most complicated setup on the job. It has a 36 foot and a 20 foot cantilevered post tension concrete beam holding up the post tension deck. The 36 foot beam has ducted and bonded tendons like you'd see in a bridge. The 2 beams also have a total of 24 unbonded tendons. We should reach the 6000# design strength friday and begin tensing the cables, and pulling all the forms and deck shoring.

I dont remember exact but I'll look. We had figures for yds of concrete and tons of steel, and had to set a baseline price with the sub because of the escalating costs over the length of the job-basically an allowance in the budget.

The property's priceless. Quite the view. Construction costs will be around $1000/ft.

2400 yards for the structure, but there's much much more going iinto site walls, flatwork, overpours, encasements, slurry backfill, drainage swales.
2500 tons of rebar in the structure

The second story wall forms are going in, and the crew is starting to de-shore the deck.

We pulled all of the shoring yesterday and finally saw this 36' cantilever work without any posts. It sagged 1" of it's camber under it's own weight, exactly what the P.E. predicted. We'll soon have to re-shore while we add the load of the entire livingroom.
