Latest Project
Here are some pics of my latest project. We just started the dig today. It is going to be 1000 sq ft one story addition. I'll keep updates as we make progress. I will post pics of what it will look like as soon as i have time to figure out how to get them off CA.

TaitINC,
I'm curious as to what you used for ground cover in the crawl space and why there is no ventilation?

oldfrt-
There is a 3" dust slab over 6mil poly. There are vents, but the way we had to do the block they are low. the block actually comes almost up to the sub floor. the grade was too high to do a traditional block. there are 4 vents, but we didn't put the wells in yet because when the backfill settles it'll take the wells with it. there is just plywood over the vents for now. here are a few pics of it.

Thanks TaitINC.
Were bidding on a similar project with low frost wall projection and was interested in your approach.
Although I'm not a big fan of the wells,it seems to be the only solution.
Thanks for the pics, looks real nice.

Oh, so this is what the Ufer looks like!
(I never get to see it, not much sense having the electrician around during the foundation stages of a project)
Looks really good.

Did the homeowners not want windows that matched the originals?
That's just something I noticed.

I would like to bet the H/O is certainly not complaining about the speed in which you have been going! Pretty quick! Looks great.
As for the windows. Todays windows typically have detachable panes. Either the just do not have them on yet or are planning to purchase them at a later date. My guess.
If not....Then the H/O made a mistake in not keeping it similar in style.
Although, you will notice that there are no mullions on the previous addition!

Magnettica The windows actually match the originals very well. they are the same size as the larger windows on the front of the house. we also have grilles and shutters to install yet. Personally i think the windows are too big in the addition, but that is what she wanted.
MALCO the H/O actually wants it done faster. she tried to pressure me and say it has to be done in 12 wks. needless to say she knows that isn't going to happen now. I also have 6 signed change orders so that pushed the schedule back. the previous addition to the rear of the house has all casement windows. it doesn't match anything.

I've been waiting to see these. Great job. I really like the ceiling in the breakfast nook. Is that beadboard? I have a bay window area like this at one of my new projects. I think I'll show them the pics of the stool/ chair rail. Congrats.
