Re: Big Addition Rescue

Thanks guys (and gal)

We should be done with the finishing touches in a day or so, I'll post the final pics then.

The bobcat operator that was spreading the gravel in the carport drove right into one of the 10" sono tubes and broke it off in the ground. I wasnt there but he told the HO that there was nothing wrong with it. When i got there i could push the top of the tube back and forth 3-4 inches. So after he got that fixed (he dug a big hole around the whole thing and dumped probably a yard of concrete in it), the HO decided she wanted the carport paved, after telling me numerous times she didnt. So now I have to change the front steps.

Your emoticon is WAY OFF for this situation.........You should feel this way. Change order is ALWAYS the money maker. Especially since you had already discussed the driveway layout and planned accordingly.

Re: Big Addition Rescue

On a completely different note but the same project, how do you do it?

How do you get a permit to stick construct to a mobile home? Around here mobile homes have completely different codes and they fall under different jurisdictions within the state government. There is just no way to get a permit to do that job.

We could build the structure self supporting and slightly detached from the mobile home and be ok but no way could we support that roof off the mobile home.

If you look at the satellite view of
Castlegar, BC, you might get an idea.

Re: Big Addition Rescue

OK, third time trying to post this, lol (third times a charm, right?)

I know more money = but I was hoping to get this finished and move on to the next job, this one is dragging out a bit.

Thom, look closer, those posts against the trailer aren't just for looks.

Up here, as long as you build off the same type of footing that the trailer is sitting on, you can build anything you want on it.
