Water Heater And Well Water Question

I moved 3 years ago from a life in the city to a home with hard water. Learned about septic systems, took care of installing a new water softener and dealt with smelly hot water. I removed the anode from my water heater and put a pint of hydrogen peroxide in the tank every 5 or 6 weeks and that helped. Now I want to install a new water heater. I have an account with Fergusen and they sell only A.O. Smith natural gas with the 6 year warranty.
For you guys with well water, what would you install, and is there a water heater that has an anode rod that does not promote smells in the water?
Any suggestions I could consider?
