Oak beams and T&G

A few pics of a job we just finished. HO did the stain himself.

Oak beams with pine tongue and groove applied.

Did you hang all the doors in the hallway there? It's nice to see all the casing lining up from one door to the other, an all to often overlooked step in hanging doors in close proximity to one another.

Doubleup16,

Thanks, we did hang the doors, I agree 100%. I think it is much more pleasing to the eye when one takes the time and prepares for the task at hand. In this type of situation, I find the high point and draw a level line on the drywall at the top of all the frames to keep them at the same height.

That's how it should be done, it sadly should not be "an all to often overlooked step". It is actually easy to do with the commoness of lazers like the PLS 180, etc. When they are not lined up, that is a sign of a poor, lazy, or stupid carpenter, GC, or superintendent.

Regardless of my rant, nice work!

Thanks,
