My Latest Deck

Here is a deck I finished up (at least 99%) a little bit ago. It is Correct deck mahogany with a Correct deck cedar picture frame. I used Deckorators balusters in green and a double 14" microlam beam to span almost 18' inbetween posts.

Re: My Latest Deck

Nice job Is that microlam rated for outdoor use? Just wondering because some brands/types can't get wet.

Very seldom do you see decks with sliding boards built underneath. Nice touch.

Sort of... its not a PT but it will survive outdoors fine as long as water does not get between the members.
I used metal flashing and then vycor over the metal to protect the top of it.

I think the homerowner will be very pleased. Excellent work. I also noticed he has a nice gas grill. He dropped some money on that grill. I bet 800.00 for that grill.

I also think because we are semi-arid we can do some things that might not be allowed in a more humid climate.

Nice work Robert.

Robert,
Nice work!
Are the railings Correct Deck also?
Is the decking CX or the original Correct Deck?

I use the correct deck 2x4's for my rails and 5/4 for the top boards. I also make the posts custom by ripping fascia with a 45 degree bevel and glue/screw them together. It is the original correct deck. I have not really tried to sell CX yet.

Re: My Latest Deck

Bummer that Correct Deck doesn't make post sleeves in the various colors - less screw heads and less labor than building your own... and no miter joints to open up over time.

A clean-looking deck, Robert - good job.

I was wondering the same thing. Overall your deck is nice Robert and I like your post trim out nice and tight.

Very simple design and clean looking.

Question: Have you ever thought about color matching your screws to the product? We do this

I use an HFS but were I cant (picture frame, steps) I use the GRK t-10 trim head screw. It almost disapears.
