Re: My First Photo Post

I like the Bosch saw. When I was shopping for a new one I bought the Hitachi because it looks so damn cool and I liked a few of their other products.

However, I still wish I went the Bosch. I like bosch when it comes to cutting ... With my hitachi, the motor sometimes gets in the way when doing certain angles/compound/bevel whatever

I love it. The best part about it...didn't cost me a dime. It was a present from an ex girl of mine a few years back. The only thing I wish it had was a higher vertical cut capacity, like the new DeWalt 10"....granted so far I don't run into too many times where I have needed something like that, but I think that would have rounded out the saw very nice. Of course the head riding on the rails like the Festool would have been great...and the whole head assembly gets a little heavy when setting the bevel so that mico adjust on the Festool would be sweet...but hey..that is why the Festool is $1300 and the Bosch $600. I hear alot of people complain about the inaccurate miter scale as well, but I beg to differ. They quote that the miter "tic" marks are 1/16" of an inch thick, and while that is correct, I just moved my pointer so that it indicates on the left side of that tic mark for a whole degree. So something like 22.5 degrees, the pointer falls in the middle of the tick mark...granted I can't go all the way down to anything more then .25 of a degee with accuracy, but I don't run into the need where I am reading the scale like that often.

I have had a few close calls with some cars....rather VW Jettas, it's always a Jetta....................

As soon as I am over the Flu or whatever I have, I will be headed back there to wrap up the trim in the last bed room, then hopefully as long as it stays decent out, I will be doing a mud room(its framed but needs drywall, a laundry center installed and trim), 2 of his porches, back deck, the hardwood flooring, then the rest of the trim...

I kinda view this as a good oppurtunity for both him and I. I am helping out an old co-worker, getting enough $$ to cover my bills and make a little as a talk to alot of local guys who are dead in the water. I just started my company and he will make for a great reference. Everyone askes for references and I gotta start somewhere...I want to say this is one the larger projects I have undertaken myself, however, it really is just a series of smaller jobs...but that is the name of my game..Punchlist Carpentry.
