Re: Kitchen With Quirks

Here are some of the quirks as far as I'm concerned;

The wine cubbies are stained yet in a painted cabinet.

The wine cubbies , hard to see, are not symetrical. The left side is wider than the right so he can put some booze bottles in there. Looks a little strange. I didn't expect anyone to pick that one up.

The upper above the fridge has 3 equal width doors that span over the cabinet to the right of the fridge. To me it looks strange that the doors don't stack.

To the left of the sink is a large drawer cabinet. 3 drawers on the top over a stack of 2. Not all of that strange but a little.

The trash rollout is behind a door the same size as the dishwasher panel to create symmetry. It creates several inches of slack space to both sides of the trash unit.

All the upper cabs go to the 8' level except for the 2 stained uppers flanking the range. They are a few inches shy.

The bar area created at the end of the line is a few inches over the standard 42". Which will make finding bar stools difficult and a little harder to get on to.

There could be more but those are enough. The designer is not someone that I spend much effort changing things like this with. She seems to know what she is after so I give it to her. It's all good, just quirky.

..and I ran, I ran so far away....

None of these are really how I look(ed). There's a yearbook-yourself site that does all these crazy pics. You know I'm just a bald guy so all of my "looks" came out pretty good.

Sorry for going WAY off topic, Gus.

This place is coming together better than I thought it would.

Still think the floor needs to come out though.

Very nice cabinetry work but what sticks out to me is that it looks too busy in the finished pictures with the paint and stain and dark tops with SS appliances. Damn designers. JMO

Very nice. Stone is gorgeous.

Why the ledge on the backsplash on one side and not the other?

Re: Kitchen With Quirks

The grout color in front of the fridge is way off....that's neither here nor there since the floor covering wasn't replaced....are we still guessing?

I noticed that today when I was there too.
Lets just add that to the list of quirks.

The second biggest reason I thought the floor should be replaced is how much patching needed to be done. You are seeing one of those areas.

Are those soapstone counters?

Maybe the ledge since it's by the cooktop is for displaying/storing spices or oil bottles, etc???

All I did was brighten it. If you could learn how to use a camera and get a well exposed picture I would have to "change your colors"
