Ipe deck remod from some crazy idea someone had
I really dont know what was going on in their head, but ,...somehow they thought this would work. The deck was pitched back toward the house at least an inch and a half in 8 ft. That 1/2 pvc pipe was filled with so much **** it wasnt even funny .
BTW it was 1/2" plywood with stucco on top. ??????

Part of the pergola on the first landing. A 2x12 with a 1/4" flitch plate . more deck floor shots, The SS screws were used where the deckmaster wouldnt fit. They were going to be hidden.

Last shot before I left. Added new doors and an eyebrow above the double hung.
The painters filled the PT posts and painted . We were going to use Ipe posts until the customer found out how much they were going to cost!

What a dramatic difference. You do some really nice work Ow My Thumb.
The stairs with the landing and then a pergola on top - it's just looks really, really, nice.
Oh, but you're missing one thing: LIGHTS!

Beautiful craftsmanship. I hope that PT lumber holds up. I can understand why the Ipe posts were out, that stuff is costly. Nice work. Oh yeah, the deckmaster hardware is the best hidden fastening system I have found, but it is not a one man job.
What a pain.

Nice job man! Are the pergola components IPE or PT?
Something to think about for the next one - paint the tops of your DM metal brown so it doesn't show shiny metal through the decking gaps. Or paint them all brown so they blend in better, from above and below...

At the time, I think I got a quote of $41 a ft for 6x6. .And it was still in port in Brazil, so at least 3 or 4 weeks waiting, plus they said customs could hold it up a few more weeks if they wanted to.(Looking for blow maybe???)
