Humbled By Hundert Y.o. Houses

Here is a slideshow of a few houses in my area that are very humbling to me as a carpenter. None of this is my work, and I have not worked on any of these houses. Some amazing work mostly done with hand tools:

I have a book about Victorian's and I do believe that bottom house is featured in that book.

There are a few of those in my neighborhood, and it just makes you wish you lived a hundred years ago.

My house is 105 years old, and in bad need of a fix-up. Gotta start with the aluminum siding some id10t put on it!

I grew up on all that "gingerbread" in Cape May NJ. Working on those houses was always an adventure. Finding old stuff in the walls and seeing how things were built "back in the day".

A friend of mines wife does ghost tours in Cape May. Gotta see the bed and breakfasts there. Cool stuff Basswood. Total cost of all those projects? I'm guessing about 100 Gs

I saw "gingerbread" and though of this house in Kennebunk, Maine. It's called the Wedding Cake House. Nice antenna on top huh?

Nice find Bass. I think the first one is quite famous is it not? Did it burn down and they rebuilt it?
