Very cool though, I just hope he doesn't get flamed.
Awesome looking set up, and i agree it would'nt fly for the final.....but ahhhh, so long as something is mocked up temporarily for the final then somebody may be able to remove them later...you know, to get furniture upstairs and all

Re: The HO/Builder Next Door

We did one a few years ago for an architect that was weled and then moved into place and bolted to the wall and to the floor framing at the second floor. Yje lower stairs were done the same way. They didn't touch the floor so the hadwood could be run under them after we installed them.

No risers and glass railings. I will see if I can find a picture of the installation. Several big guys, a couple genie lifts and a chain hoist from the ceiling. If I remeber the total weight was over a ton. And no bounce with the 4 big guys on them,

It's bolted to the glulam at the top and a glulam recessed in the wall (at the platform). It's one big monolithic structure.

It has no bounce, and each tread will also be a glulam.

I think he is leaving it bare or black...I saw the railing and they are black metal. His buddy is an aluminum boat builder, so he has a top notch welder on-site.
