Yes you are. This lady is a peanut heiress from south Georgia. Ill tell you this, peanut farmers aint poor . Her husband was in the restaurant supply business. Not hurtin for cash either. Very good people though.
I met her when I trimmed out her addition (which was the garage and the new,VERY big, bedroom above it). Shes one of the few "Ill go out of my way for" customers. I do all kinds of little things for them to keep 'em happy.

Yeah, I know, - - that window's just drivin' me nuts though. I'd make sure curtains go cab to cab. Overall, it still looks beautiful. Don't worry, I'm even tougher on myself after a job.

The boxes were 48" wide by 24" deep. Full 4x8' sheet of 1/4 inch plywood for the backing. Wouldve had to splice a piece to get the extra 6 or 7 inches. And then theres the waste from the extra 6 inches or so on the top, base and shelves. Couldnt use a 41-42 inch piece anywhere. The doors were cut out of of a single 4x8 sheet. Keeping scrap down to a minimum.
These were garage storage cabinets, thats all, not a 50,000 dollar kitchen job.
But,like I said, I told her about it, and if she wanted to do it, she would have got it.

Hey, it bugged me to.Trust me, I tried. But in the end, you do what the customer wants.
Shes got those things jam packed now.Drawers to. I may have to go back and add more boxes to the space on the top.

Yes , the cheap Liberty brand. Theyre ok, just not extremely consistent. You get a few bad ones in the batch every now and then. Like stripped out adjustment screws, locking clips that dont lock,...things like that.

AWESOME!

This is why I am taking a carpentry class, so I when I buy a house I can do nice work like this, well maybe not right away, but eventually with a little practice and advice from the pro's. I'll bet this customer was very happy.

You can probably do something like this now with some tools you might have already. A table saw makes it A LOT easier but, if you had to,you could do rips with a skill saw with a long guide (like a 1x clamped down). A screw gun , miter box, and a nail gun. Oh , and an iron.

Yes she was. I just talked with her today actually. Theyre a little stressed out at the moment,....seems theyve lost about 250 Gs in the stock market so far.
Probably wont be doing anything for them for a little while.

Re: Garage Cabinets

I've got some woodworking tools like a Ryobi table saw, Dewalt mitre saw, Bosch jigsaw, Makita disc sander, Kreg joinery kit, obviously a speed square, etc. I live on the 2nd floor of a two-family so I have no room to do any actual wood work unless I set up my stuff out in the yard. Doing that makes me feel like I'm ghetto or something and i feel uncomfortable working like that. I bought all my stuff to build cabinets in my van so I have set up outside and it does suck. Anyway, great looking cabinets.
