Spring is here and it,s great to be working back outside again.
This is a birdhouse i started last year but it got put on hold for the winter.
It is made from 120 yr old reclaimed barn wood.

Cranbrook 2. Off topic question. In the pic above where you have a small shed framed i see a big field behind it. What does the farmer plant in that field? Corn or soybeans or something else. I was just wondering what it would be seeing how your from ontario. Thats a good size crop field that farmer should be plowing it as we speak getting ready to plant.

Hi 747
The crops get changed every 4 or 5 years between corn , hay and soy beans.
That 25 acre field has hay now and i have 50 acres of corn and 25 acres is being picked for worms this year.

I love your style man. You need to be featured on a TV show...... trying to think of the right one......

Charles Kuralt (sp) used to do a Sunday morning show that you would have fit right in on.

This is unique individualism at it's height. I love it. Hats off to you my friend.

Thank you Trimcat for the very nice comment.

I am just finishing up # 29 now.
This one is 6 ft tall and made from 70 yr old barn wood.

It has 10 decks and 6 dormers
The roof will be done with steel.
I will post a few finished pics soon.

Thanks again

I'm actually noticing a lot more different varieties of birds showing up this year including some Purple Martins.

I even have a bus tour of 25 seniors coming in a few weeks to see my birdhouses and see me in action in the shop.

Well thats really nice John and I'm sure will greatly be apprieciated by the seniors and will give them something to talk about for a long time. Have you ever donated any of your houses to a senior citizen facility ?

I am going to build 1/2 dozen little apartment size birdhouses to give to them and i am donating a 9 ft birdhouse to a conservation next spring.

Next spring i am going to attempt to set a world record for building the world largest log birdhouse.
There is no record for it yet.:

Your projects are awesome.

These birdhouses have definitely inspired me into looking into how we can incorporate them into a new development we're doing.
