Correct Deck Reface Project

Project started out with just replacing existing railing and decking, but after pulling some deck boards found nothing was built to code so had to gut and start from scratch. Not a fancy design by any means, just another standard style deck, but the price of materials used pushed their budget as it was, esspecially once base was deemed unusable. I really like the lights on the stair posts and homies are very ahppy with them also since it lights up the stairway like they'd hoped since many friends are elderly this will help. This was our first time using a hidden fastner system and I loved the final clean look, this Correct Deck CX is awesome stuff, just wish more customers in my area could afford it

Josh, nice looking deck. Thanks for posting the photos.

I was curious who supplies lighted posts, and a very quick look at the Correct Deck website didn't show it, so where'd you find it?

Re: Correct Deck Reface Project

Wow, thanks for the comments, means alot since I drool over many of the things you guys have created and been able to do!

Karma, I got these lights through a local supplier, but the guy is a total azz to deal with and has no idea about customer service. Fri this gal called and said 1 light was not working, I called the place I got them from and was told they're back ordered...but he had no idea when, so I did some research and found THIS PLACE which has the same style that this deck used. I called and talked to them and the gals were very freindly so I look forward to working with them in the future. I did'nt end up getting the light from them since I went to job site, pulled light apart and found corrosion at battery contacts inside...cleaned them up and they worked like new...musta been sitting in a warehouse for awhile since these solar lights are'nt cheap by any means but they sure do add that lil extra.

Thanks for the nice comments, just wish there was a lil more "flare" to the deck, but I'm sold on this CD and cant wait to try some things here at my home with it!!

Nice job Josh!

There's nothing wrong with a simple design when it's built the right way!

My only comment would be that I don't like the look of the lattice skirting but that's really just personal choice. I prefer solid board or T&G skirting - again, that's just my personal choice.

yep-that was customer's choice for privacey lattice so I rolled with it. I know they could'nt have swung the extra $$ for solid composite skirting in the CD since we maxed their deck budget as it was redoing base.
