Re: Arch Top Garage Doors

next we will drop the doors down, apply roughsawn to simulate rails and panels over this flush door., it saves alot of $, these doors could cost 6,000 per door, if i ordered them from a garage door company.

garage will be heated, if you notice, that would have been an empty void, between interior and exterior. it is in front of the garage door, but i figured it could not hurt.

Re: Arch Top Garage Doors

Finally, started to get the veneer installed on the doors, they still need final stain and finish, i will also install some low profile handles to further simulate the barn door effect.

Re: Arch Top Garage Doors

As said, VERY nice work. Looks super.

But let me harp on the insulation in the arches. Were the doors insulated? If not I sincerely don't think that little bit in the arch will be effective.

Just thoughts - nothing critical.

Another question

Are these two separate jobs? I see a two car garage and then a single car with a regular door next top it.

It is know as "Satisfying Ones Own Mind". It is sometimes necessary to work to the point of "You Know That You Know" that it is done ABSOLUTELY correctly. Even if overkill.

It is an indicator of the level of Craftsmanship. I used to work this way but I have become rather lazy in my years. (I do NOT cut corners, I just do what is "expected" rather than what I believe to be completely COMPLETE.)

Is that living space I see above?
