99.99% done
I've been here for a little while. Some of you may remember seeing some posts I've made on the library install, the closets, etc. I finished up taking some pics before the movers got here and I got to say I'm glad I did. The place is packed now. The painters did an awesome job.
Enjoy
Entry Way. Wine closet on the left.
My view. Can you believe it?
Before the island got painted. They changed their mind on the granite.
Spare Bedroom
Here's my closets I made awhile back.
Master Bath minus shower doors
For you trim guys. What can be done here? leave it out completely? This looks retarded.

What's cool, framerman, is that I just read the other post you did aa while back about these same closet shelves and then saw this. Very nice work, thanks for sharing.
Kind of hard concentrating on work, I bet, with views out the window like that.

Worst time I ever had was building a house for a guy that owned a doat dock. Built it overlooking the lake. Problem was, that was all you wanted to do, overlook the lake.
Nice house.

Duke I would install a full piece of shoe there and either slice back 45 or return mitre sometimes slicing back looks better. What kind of shoe piece is it it looks nice as well as all the other work you did?

Very Nice - agree with above either remove it completely or make it longer
I like working in places like that - start feeling like going ballistic, take a minute, step outside, enjoy the scenery, go back in calm, cool, collected & smack a few heads

Looks nice man!!!! With the shoe moulding i would have left it out or if they insisted having it i would have run it to the edge of the casings, since they are on the same plane.

The last few days, the HO has been moving in, though this is his getaway/12th home/party cabin it's not really going to be home to him.
So I'm there helping here and there, keying the locksets to match, throwing a few things in the dumpster, etc. and now the walls are banged up, so they need touch up or painting all together. Some furniture broke, so they need it fixed. The OH was too much on the granite on the island, so I have to retrofit bars in (I assumed positively this was going to be a bad situation) replace some deck boards, change out an old window that was never replaced the first time, put the stack kit on W&D.....
as the world turns.
Coastal places are nice. They get brutal in winter though. Just raw weather. It rains either sideways or uphill. I remodeled a house a few years ago on the beach and I found a ton of sand in the soffit system 2 stories up. Nice view yes, but I'll take where I live any day over this. Peace and quiet. Lots of land. Though I do have the multitude of bugs to deal with. They get swamp flies and seagull crap!

Changing the way that shoe ends would probably look awkward with the other sides of the openings. That's a tough call. Maybe build out the casing with a simulated plinth, but that opens up a different can of worms. What about a double 22.5 to ease it back into the casings? Yet another can of worms. I'll have to get back to you on that one

I'm not done. In fact, I think I have a whole lot more to do. When a headstrong interior decorator from San Francisco is running the job, you know there's got to be some changes a comin'. Sent her pictures of the place. Tick, tick, tick....
