Are Web Sites Worth The Money

I'm subscribed to service magic and like others i have read in other posts i'm sick of paying for eighty percent dud leads so heres the question alot of you have web sites do they bring alot of buisness your way i've been told it is about 2k to set one up and a fee per mounth after. I'm workin on my own most of the time when i take on a carpenter ( and when they can acually do what they claim they can) i can't keep a steady stream of work for them so i need to step it up a notch ??

I use networksolutions, they have templates and you can do it yourself. Is it a great web-site=no. When I get the time I go on it and play around a little, edit here and there. I took about a hour the first night and about 10 or so hours since.

Once you have a web site you can use google/yahoo to draw traffic to your web-site and pay a fraction of what you pay to on-line lead services.

No more advice, you might be my competition.

At the bare minimum, any business in existance today should have the equivilent of a yellow page ad on the Web.

That is to say, yes, you need a webpage with your contact information, but beyond that, the results of a large, complex webpage are questionable for a small operation.

We now average about 70 visitors a day.
Of course they are not all leads by any stretch of the imagination.

75% of our new business comes from search engines(not lead services)
Yes, it is worth having a website.

I use my website as a virtual portfolio. When someone calls me on the phone I can tell them to visit my website for examples of my work/workmanship. With most ISP they will give you free space to post your site. Mine is through AOL and COX, the two sites are mirror images of each other but I use that as a backup. I haven't been able to get my site to show up on a search by using general tags, but if you put my company name into the search it will show up. It is worth an investment if only used as your virtual portfolio.

This would be my thinking. When someone is looking for you and can go to a search engine, type in your name and you come up.....Well that's just mind boggling

I went supreme server and built my own web site. It took some trial and error, but I have had customers ask me what company built my site. Check it out at http://www.wasatchvalley.com I think one of the main things a website does is give your customers the feeling that you are a professional company.
