Water In Basement

So, once again march hits, i go to check on my grandparents basement, and sure enough 1/4 inch of water in the same corner, same as every year for the last 20 years.
The contractors he used poured the floor and blocked off of that, no footings
the sump is at the other side of the house ( 80 ft away)

here is my question , is there a product similar to crack pack that i can make maybe a 3/16 gap under this 2 foot section of the foundation and fill???

of course i could put in another sump pit and dig the foundation to tie into the weepers, however there is a massive wrap around deck in the way...

they are right on the waterfront aswell

Has anyone done this ?

Did you find out where the water is coming from? If it is the same corner all the time, and the rest of the basement is dry, check the gutters, maybe it is clogged and overflowing and all the water collects in that corner, or extent the leader 3' out away from the foundation wall, also check the grade in that area, it could be low and all the water collects in the corner near foundation and is going down in to the basement.

90% of wet basements due to improper grading or leaders, unless there is high water table or poor soil conditions which create high hydrostatic pressure.

Re: Water In Basement

like i said they are right on the waterfront, the footing is likely 12 inches above the water table, it comes from the same two foot section of block 3 feet in from a corner, same time of every year

i would have blamed the gutters too, if it wasnt still -15 every day with 24" of snow

Re: Water In Basement

Have you tryed stablizing the soil on the outside of the basement with soil solidification enzymes that has a ability of turning dirt as hard and dence as concrete.Or in the area of the water intrusion placing a sump well on the outside to the bottom of the footer to release the hydro pressure causing this water to come into the basement in the wet times of the year.A 12`` pvc pipe holes drilled to the highth of the leak inside placed in the ground with pebble stones at the bottom for perging and filtering and a small sump pump with a float covered with ground frabric to stop dirt infilltration. here is the enzyme.I dont have a picture of the sump you will have to wing it. http://www.lenntech.com/terrazyme.htm
