Nope not here that was the pre walkthrough.

Here it's as long as it's deemed livable by the city or town I'm required to close.

Even asked my lawyer and she said as soon as they can get an occupancy permit from the town I'll be required to close and release funds in full.

It's a ****ed up system here in Ontario

I switched to Chrome and the pictures show up. Firefox crashes all the time now anyway, so I guess I'm overdo to switch.

Yup it's a joke your forced to pay for it and they use it as a ploy to get the builder to do things they should have done the first time.

Can anyone confirm my suspicion this is a cold air return? Not sure why it's in the floor first time I have ever seen this.

Usually if there is no adjustable direction vanes then it's a return. If you have the ability to change the direction and shut it down, then it's either heat or cooling.

Re: The Wall Of SHAME!

sometimes the framing gets in the way and doesn't leave any option but to put it in the floor. Not a great option tho as it tends to collect all the floor sweepings, toys, etc.

I haven't cut a cold air return in a floor in over 30 years. That's Bull Crap.

Went for a walk the other day and just had to take this picture.

Yup, that is plumber`s strap hold the Beam to the Angle Iron support.

And no landing. House is occupied. We need a better inspector, me thinks.

Re: The Wall Of SHAME!

This seems like it was caused by laziness or a trade not wanting to do their job.

Beyond the fact the hole is larger then the vent I'm going to bring it up with the builder.

When your sparky forgets to tie in a cable TV outlet just have him spool some cable and hang it from a vent pipe

Re: The Wall Of SHAME!

If I had to guess they tried to slap most of this together in 2 weeks or less it screams hack.

Gonna talk to some of the guys and trades Tomorrow I get the feeling this is a GC who is stealing from Peter to pay Paul.
