Any railings that I do I price at $15.00 a running foot for straight and $20.00 a foot for railing that angles down the stairs. This is labor and I will supply glue and nails or screws but everything else is extra.

well i work in the stair business and we make prefab stairs. all the figuring for the railwork is done in the shop including goosenecks or any other rail fitting that need to be attached...even the baluster holes are predrilled and post pre knotched in the shop, so when we get to the job site we just install the stair unit, set our post in and attach our prefit rails. Then we put in our balusters and trim of the stair. So on a simple 16 rise stair and lets say a 8' balcony we would charge roughly 1$1200, although most of the work is done in the shop this is just for the finish install goosenecks=$110
level rail parts=$75
setting posts=$55
nosings and trim$10 per foot
rail and bal=$32 per foot
