Screen Tight
Has anyone used the product called screen-tight? If so whats your opinion of it. Any problems? How about installation time vs staples and lattice? Any other info would be appreciated!

Re: Screen Tight
I cant remember the exact name brand, but it's the same principal as the stuff they sell at HD or Lowes. I sided a house (for buddy that stills owes me $$$
, anyways he had a screened in porch and was telling me about this stuff. Now keep in mind this fella is not real handy around the home.I stopped by a month or so ago to check it out and must say it's a really neat system and I look forward to using it on a job should the need ever arise. The guy and his wife did a 17' run in 45 minutes and the 20' run in 30 minutes. Sure his joints where they came together left something to be desired, but overall it looked VERY nice and is obviously super simple to install. Definately looks to be a product that will make you out as "da man" when your done. |

Re: Screen Tight
You will love it...stretches the screen tight, holds, and what else can you ask for? Try it, you will wish you invented it.

Re: Screen Tight
I worked with the Screen Tight system, once. Its not that easy for one guy to install. Ya really need two. You screw up the recieving track, then mount the screen, al la, storm window style, ya know with a depresser and a roll of rubber, then a plastic finish cap covers the initial receiving track.
The whole key for a sharp look is getting the screen drum tight, and horozontal and vertical lines where they should be. The screen came in rolls, dont know about the widths, I think the one we used was about 4 feet, consider that with regard to openings. I personnally liked it and hated it, but I dont have to live with it |
