I saw it once, it looked terrible, the HO was so proud that she did it herself, I just smiled and changed the subject.

Had to join this one. I just did a job with crown going up in four rooms. 4.5 inch wide. What a pain!!!! I won't take on a job like that again soon. I usually don't do anything but shingle, but this job paid well and I get along well with hammer and saw, but it was not worth it! I will stick to roofing (or near anything else)!

What? Why is 4-1/2" crown a pain? Compared to what? Is it just that you don't run crown a lot so it was hard or because it was 4-1/2"...I don't get it, 4-1/2" crown is pretty basic. I must be missing something.

Re: OK Crown Molding Easy?????

No crown is basic. It takes a good set of woodworking skills to do a nice job. If you haven't spent a fair bit of time doing trim carpentry, it's a challenge.

Uhhh...I assume that most people posting in a "carpentry" forum for professionals have woodworking skills.

I don't get this place sometimes...
