Need Your Help

I just picked up a mint, antique Dunlap cast iron table (tilting) saw. It is very compact and well made. The only glitch is that it has a 1/2" diameter arbor. Does anyone out there know where I can find blades for it? The blade diameter should be 7" but anywhere from 6 to 7 1/2" would work.

A few of the cordless saws have 1/2" arbors. You might be able to find them at a home center.

You may be able to get a arbor reducer to fit standard 5/8" arbor blades.

Re: Need Your Help

I have a very old Craftsman table saw (late 50's or early 60's) with a 1/2" arbor, it has an adapter so I can use common saw blades, I'm not sure if it came with the saw originally or not. But you could try Sears parts and see if maybe they have any, I know they used to have a lot of old parts. Maybe try Delta, Jet, Rigid etc. for an adapter. If you can't find one, you can make one if you have access to a metal lathe or have one made by a machinist. I think common saw blades with common arbors would be cheaper and easier to find than an oddball size, so it might be worth getting the arbor adapter.

Here's a drawing of what the adapter on my saw looks like:
