Mantel

I'm doing a job where the customer wants me to remove a wooden mantel and replace with stone. The customer is asking me the worth of the mantel I'm removing. I have no clue. I'm not big with these kind of things.

What I do know is that it was salvaged from a home that was over 100 years old. 101 or 185, I have no idea. They had it refinished after salvaging about 10 years ago and the guy who restored it said he thought it was valuable. He's no longer in business.

Looks to me like it's cherry. I cannot find any markings on it. So anyone have an idea on how to go about finding value with an item like this? I think the HO has asked around too but has not been able to find anyone that can give any answers.

Thanks

$600-- to $1100-- Nice but fairly common,May be a pain to sell. It has to fit-be the taste of the buyer---
Check Ebay previous sales.

Thanks, I'll pass the link to my customer.

Mike, I know the HO has looked on ebay but they don't understand how to price it. I suppose because there's no proof of its origin, that's the problem.
