Re: I Want To Build Balcony With I Beem

Was a Cert. welder in the union for years. Still do. this is what I did Years ago on a project. Ran 3/8" steel angle, on and down , wall plates on either side
of deck . Coming of front face of iron I welded a galvanized 3/4" long coupling
on each side. This protruded through the new siding. Using 3/4" mild steel
hot rolled rod ,I welded 2 short lengths of all thread to the ends. Fabbed up
steel brackets for both outside corners. Worked great, plenty strong!
I'll go back and take a photo, ONLY, If You are 100 percent SURE You want to do this. It's a bitt of a ride ,and .don't know the new owners. been about
18 years ago. Drift

Shame on you!
That was my first thought when I read the question.

No shame in not knowing how to do something like that.

However, as Malco pointed out, the shame is to put GC under a member name, state in bold letters - "WEKNOW CONSTRUCTION"...and then start a post that completely contradicts both....

I think I see where you are going with the brass poles... I know I would not be able to talk my wife into using them as you are implying...
