Decks
I handle building maintenance for a huge complex. All Decks are wood. One of the operations I'm responsible for is deck repairs. I'm looking for other carpenter opinions on how much they would charge per foot for the folllowing: Removing an old board (2x6x20) & replacing with new with screws (approx 30 per bd). Keeping in mind it is not a whole deck. Some decks sometimes have 10-15 bad boards in the middle of 40 good ones. Cost to dispose of wood on site should also be included. Anyone got an idea of what the going rate is per ft labor & per ft material for this type of job? It's not as easy as pricing a new deck. To me ripping out pieces of decking without damaging others is more labor intense. I'm finding some are screwed in and some nailed. Any advise?
