42" beadboard wainscot with 7-1/2 flat stock base and chair molding cap. Its a large master bathroom with this same detail terminating at what are designed as masonry borders to the shower. Owner wants to carry the wainscot detail through the shower.
Looking at a product called "Nantucket Beadboard" which comes in PVC panels with the 2-1/2" rounded bead. Don't have a detail for fastening in a wet area. Conventionally, were this say a porch or something that is exposed to elements, we could trim it out to account for shrinkage and no one would be the wiser.
In this case I can see building the system water tight short term but not with shrinkage, not for long hall. I'm happy to give these folks what they want but not if its going to be a problem in the future, even if its outside the warranty period.
