Azek In Wet Area Of Shower
Anyone used Azek in the wet area of a shower? Any success? Talked with Azek at the IBC this year and they were just pushing product. Our concern is shrinkage and keeping the stuff clean.

Re: Azek In Wet Area Of ShowerQuote:
Looking at a product called "Nantucket Beadboard" which comes in PVC panels with the 2-1/2" rounded bead. Don't have a detail for fastening in a wet area. Conventionally, were this say a porch or something that is exposed to elements, we could trim it out to account for shrinkage and no one would be the wiser. In this case I can see building the system water tight short term but not with shrinkage, not for long hall. I'm happy to give these folks what they want but not if its going to be a problem in the future, even if its outside the warranty period. |

Re: Azek In Wet Area Of Shower
We used Azek as jambs entering shower with shower door frame centered on jambs. That left 1/2 the Azek jamb in the shower. So far no customer complaints. Installed Jan 2008.

Re: Azek In Wet Area Of Shower
Never heard of using Azek in shower, What about wall tile, that would look similar to a beadboard look... Not sure it is possible, but i would think tile would be the best option

Re: Azek In Wet Area Of Shower
My parents have an outdoor shower at their beach house, and I did the inside of it with Azek, walls and trim.
My mom buys a lot of bleach

Re: Azek In Wet Area Of Shower
I agree with you, I never heard anyone using Azek in the shower, that thought would never even cross my mind.
