My Life
This is just one part of a multi million dollar home in Manalapan, all the duct was measured then ordered.By the time it got to the job, they decided to continue the ELEVATOR on up to the 4th floor storage area, so I had to re-work each piece on site to fit it all into 2' 8" off the block including wrap, making sure to keep the designed cfm's and velocity.
I hate doing houses (but no one else could get the job done, apparently) and I have come to hate excentric scenile millionaires also. (What is it about having money that turn's so many into (insert expletive here!!) I hope I find out for myself one day, (Yeah right) |

Re: My Life
That does look like quite the pain, ht them with a change order maybe?
I'm doing a 10,000 sq foot house right now, my company doing the infloor heat, 12 zones. Then i'm doing the tin on the side with a buddy. We were ahead of the game, putting in 3 3ton carrier air handlers with electric backup heat, two in the basement and one in the attic. We got all the ductwork for the attic unit run out (and we did clear it with the general to put it in the attic, and electric heat was ok. well the homeowner came in first he didnt want the unit in the attic, now he wants gas furnaces. now apparently he wants all 3 units in the basement which is going to be close to impossible. It's all in the contract though for electric heat so were able to hit him with a change order, silly millionaire only wants gas furnaces to heat up the house one day a year so he doesn't have to wait for the infloor to bring it up from 50 to 70. The total job is 80,000 and we've already got 12,000 in extras, I suppose in this day you have to follow around the guys with the money :-) |
