Tailpiece on that riser is to high according to my code, no more them 30" allowed to the trap.

That is not an air gap, as it would be possible to block the opening on the tee and eliminate the air gap.

Geez that is pretty damn ridiculous... You'd think a professional mechanical company that's been around as long they have would get a clue.
