Question

Radiant Heat

Help! How can i locate a leak in a loop buried in concrete. The line was pressure tested and lost 10lbs of pressure over 12 hours. There is no surface water. There is a wooden floor over it,which was partially removed as it had bubbled up.

Re: Radiant Heat

1) Why did you post this in the plumbing picture section?
2) Call a plumber.

Hello. Do have have access to the concrete? there is an old trick. Mop the concrete over the pipes and let the infloor heat. you shoud see the heating lines clearly. If you see a spot appear there is your leak.

I would say fill it up with water and look for the wet spot. Then get the jack hammer.

Re: Radiant Heat

We went to a house once where a company had laid pipes in the concrete and put a vapour barrior over the pipes before screeding. They had a leak and we couldnt find it for crap. They had to jack hammer the whole screed up where the pipes were. Dumb asses didnt pressure test before laying concrete . good luck
